Next up in our industry folk lists is written by Anthony Stano on behalf of The Alternative Tone favourites Haverford !  1. I Can See Mountains – Life On A Houseboat   This band is criminally underrated, and they put out he absolute best album of 2013. It makes me want to go outside and spend some time with my best friends, fall in love, and follow my dreams. This is everything you could ask for from an album and is unbelievably inspiring. Please go take a road trip and listen to this album. 2. Into it. Over it. – Intersections Instrumentally my favorite body of music; the guitars and drum work so well together. 3. A Great Big Pile Of Leaves – You’re Always On My Mind  Some of my favorite bass lines, one of the grooviest albums of 2013 4. Haverford – Spirit Bear 03 September 2013 Self-released Rating: 8 FFO: The Early November, Transit, Balance and Composure by Ben Curttright  Spirit Bear by Haverford It’s understandable if your Internet browsing or show-hopping hasn’t yet led you to Haverford. The Long Island five-piece only entered the scene a year ago. But, what a year it’s been. Since releasing their first EP, Wisdom Lost, in September 2012, Haverford have been featured on several splits and compilations alongside bands like State Lines, Captain, We’re Sinking, and Dowsing. The next natural step is, of course, a full length, and Haverford have answered the call with Spirit Bear, a remarkably mature album from such a young band. Immediately, the notion of Spirit Bear as a complete album shows itself through the ambient lightness of the intro track, “Anxious”, which features sliding, tapped guitar, slow drumming, and ethereal, building vocals.   State  Lines  and  Haverford  released the album art for their upcoming split set to drop this Tuesday, April 2nd, 2013. The split will be available on a limited run tape, out of a hundred, and online for 'Name Your Own Price'. Fifty tapes are currently up for pre-order on the Meadowbrook Records website bundled with the repressing of State Lines first full length Hoffman Manor. The remaining fifty tapes will be sold online as well as this Summer on State Lines' tour and Haverford's tour.

Hi Haverford!    Heyyyyy Kelly For the record, and the unacquainted, who is Haverford? Anthony, Billy, Connor (Ramz), Mark, Kevin How did you get together? We all met each other through school and going to shows.  How would you describe your music? Mellow and laid back jamz How has your 2012 been?  Sad and weird. Mostly weird. How was the process of making Wisdom Lost for you? Did you achieve what you wanted with the release? It was pretty stressful because we wanted to release something before we all left for school, but we got it done. We're all pretty proud of how Wisdom Lost came out.  Any plans to release again before the end of the year?  We're going to be featured in a couple of compilations coming up, and we're currently starting to work on a full length, but we're not sure when it'll be finished.
