Interview: Old Gray (August 25th, 2012)

Hi there, Old Gray!  Hello! Due to scheduling, my name is Cameron Boucher and I will be answering these questions! For the record, and the previously unacquainted, who is Old Gray? And how did you get together? Old Gray is three kids who hate each other! We are comprised of myself (guitar/bass/vocals), Raphael (guitar/bass/vocals), and Charlie (Drums/Vocals)! Charlie and I have been friends for who knows how long, no one likes Raph. We let him in the band out of pity.  How has 2012 been for you guys?  It's been really wild! We went on tour with our friends in William Bonney earlier this summer which was an incredible experience, check those guys out for sure! We've been spending a lot of time in the studio as well working on a new release!  You put out quite a lot of music in 2011, splits with Girl Scouts and The Hundred Acre Woods, Do I Dare Disturb The Universe and your demos. I saw earlier in the year that you were trying to get out an LP this year, how

Best Albums Of 2011

15. What Did You Expect From The Vaccines by The Vaccines  1 4. Codes & Keys by Death Cab For Cutie  13. Belong by The Pains Of Being Pure At Heart  12. Last Night On Earth by Noah & The Whale  11. Parting The Sea Between Brightness And Me by Touché Amoré  10. Suburbia, I've Given You All And Now I Am Nothing by The Wonder Years   Probably one of the few pop punk bands from the last few years that have made a major splash, The Wonder Years put out  Suburbia, I Have Given You All And Now I Am Nothing  a mere year after surprise hit,  The Upsides.  Continuing the story of Soupy's life from where its predecessor left off,  Suburbia  is another slab of impossibly catchy pop punk. I dare you to not relate.  9. Hurry Up, We're Dreaming by M83  The only album on this list that could be considered as dance, M83's  Hurry Up, We're Dreaming  is, simply put, massive. Every song could fill a stadium and the production is beautiful. &#

Interview: Joseph Albert (August 22, 2012)

Hi there, Joseph Albert!  Hello, The Alternative Tone!  Thanks so much for taking the time to ask me these questions. For those who are unacquainted, who is Joseph Albert? And how would you describe your music for anyone who hasn't heard you before?   Joseph Albert is a project that I, Joseph Albert Mauro started back in 2006.  I released my first album, an EP titled Inventions in 2008.  Since then I have written and recorded 2 more full lengths titled Night Time Astronaut and Via Oxygen.  Joseph Albert is a solo/singer songwriter project.  I write and perform all the parts.  I would describe my music as honest and personal.  How did you get into music? My way into music was through my elementary school band.  When I was about 9 years old I wanted to play the drums and so my parents decided to get me drum lessons on top of what I was learning in the school band.  From there I started playing in bands with friends  and did some touring in the early 2000's.  I

Interview: Papermoons (21/08/12)

Aloha Papermoons! For the record, who is Papermoons? And how did you get together?   Papermoons is Matt Clark, and Daniel Hawkins. Long story short: we met when our prior bands Adios (Matt) and Little Compass (Daniel) toured together in the summer of 2005. After those bands dissolved we started writing and sending songs back and forth from Ohio to Texas under the moniker MAPS. We played a few shows in those respective states and eventually Matt moved down to Texas and Papermoons became a fully functioning band in 2007 with the release of our self titled 7". How has 2012 been for you guys?    It's been rather busy in fact. We've played a handful of shows and managed to write and record the majority of our next full length record. We're still working on it but expect to have it wrapped up by year's end for a release at some point in 2013.  It's been your first active year as a band since 2009, so what's it like being back in the process?

I'm All Out Of Titles That Are Witty And That Utilize Band Names In A Pun.
