What Is It? Never Joy the debut album from eighteen year old, Ed Tullet. Tullet comes from Brighton, England and writes songs of a a indie folk variety. How Is It? Imagine Bon Iver, if Justin Vernon's voice resembled that of Josh Franchesci (of pop punkers Youmeatsix) and then you've got a rough estimate of Tullet. Strangely enough, this makes for a great combination and Tullet crafts quite beautiful folk songs. Sounding far more mature than his eighteen years, Tullet's lyrics are both poetic and emotional, while his simple yet atmospheric musical arrangements make him a great listen for cold winter nights and can be, at times, goose bump inducing. "Teeth" is one of these aforementioned moments, and is a highlight of the album. 85% Would I Like It? If you're a fan of Bon Iver or any form of folk, this is an album for you.
