We're sad to say that the wonderful Indian Taker have called it quits. Despite their relative newness as a band, Indian Taker won their way into the heart of The Alternative Tone, and it'll be sad to see these guys go.

Who is Silent Ships and how did it come about? On the records, Silent Ships is just myself, I write and perform everything you hear on an SS record. When I perform live I'm privileged to work with an amazing performing cast of 5 other musicians It came about when I was in HS in the days of MySpace. I wrote a song, went to record it at a friend’s house, posted it up and called the music page Silent Ships. I've been releasing music under that name ever since. How would you describe your music for the unacquainted? That's tuff, I wouldn't want to limit it to any genre. I would say it's got some soul. What are you up to at the moment? Just got home from the studio, answering these questions, then going to bed.  How is the recording process for your second album going? Exciting!! It's an experience beyond words. Tiring at times.. My sessions are normally from 11pm to 5am. So I'm definitely losing some sleep! I'm

Into It. Over It. , the brainchild of Chicago, IL musician Evan Weiss, has signed with Triple Crown Records and will release a new full-length in September. Weiss is currently in the studio recording with Brian Deck (Modest Mouse, Iron & Wine).

I caught up with wonderful new acoustic/punk/indie/pop/everything else band, McCafferty, to chat about their recent signing to Soft Speak Records, their new demo I Hate This Body and lots of other lovely things. We highly recommend McCafferty's new demo, and these guys are probably going to blow up and are certainly one of our new favourite bands.  Who is McCafferty and how did you get together?  McCafferty is an acoustic-punk band that I (Nick Hartkop) created because of a guy i used to work with in a restaurant,  it was his last name. One night at work he told me a story about a girl he was in love with in high school 5 years ago, and how he left her because he thought he needed to grow up, but after he did he realized his mistake, and he's wanted her back ever since. The story made me realize that we all have the same stories about love and loss and needing to grow up, and just being broken. And i wanted to create a way that people could connect those feelings with on
