Vinnie Caruana EP


Vinnie Caruana, frontman of punk icons I Am The Avalanche and seminal post-hardcore band The Movielife, has announced details today about his upcoming debut solo release, "City By The Sea," out February 5th on I Surrender / Run For Cover Records. Caruana will be touring the US in support of "City By The Sea" (produced by Steve Choi from RX Bandits) throughout February on the Acoustic Basement Tour, along with Geoff Rickley (Thursday), A Loss For Words, Koji and Brian Marquis. "Somehow The World Keeps Turning", the first track off Caruana's EP, can also be streamed here now.

"City By The Sea" pre-order packages are available in the following formats: CD, CD + T-ShirtVinyland UK, Vinnie will have a limited run of 300 hand-numbered 12"s pressed exclusively for the acoustic basement tour.  These 300 are limited will only be available from Vinnie at these shows.  Additional vinyl will be released March 5th.

  I've  decided to create a new genre. I call it “beardcore”. Scene heads generally make confessional folk music recorded alone in some isolated building (cabin, hut, beach house etc.) with only acoustic guitars, banjos and whatnot for company. Track-By-Track: Forest Life EP by McCafferty

McCafferty 's recent EP, Forest Life, is one of The Alternative Tone's favourite releases so far this year. I caught up with Nick to get a track-by-track on the EP, in order to give us more insight into McCafferty's fabulous imagery and lyrical themes.  Jeff    There was a girl I was friends with in high school named Becky and she was in a relationship with this guy from freshman year until last summer, when their relationship fell apart she told me it happened really fast, that's why the song is so short. I wanted to explore the aspect of a relationship with so much feeling that just ends abruptly and the emptiness that you feel after.
